RE: Error MAIL: Maximum forwarding loop count exceeded !!! ~Umberto Nongeroson 19.Dec.02 08:45 PM a Web browser Domino Server 6.0AIX
You want to look at the RouteServers or Received items on the failed message to determine where the message is looping. The entries in the person document are important to know. The mail system should probably be Other Internet mail. What types of lookups are configured for your server? If the message is looping on your domino server alone, something in your person document is allowing the forwarded message to find " josefa@um.es" or "josefa". Either, from the shortname, username, fullname, or internet address fields. A common configuration would be when the forwarding address would not be successfully looked up, and a smart host is configured to to forward mail to another server for users not found in the domino directory.
Might want to look at the following two sections in the D6 Admin help.
Setting up a smart host Setting up how addresses are resolved on inbound and outbound mail
